I didn't really enjoy this novel because it had none of the aspects I like in a fiction book. I learned that there are many different aspects at which a book can be told and I successful book can be created using the end of the book as the beginning or even the middle too. It challenged me to read it because if I'm not interested in a book I really can't get into it at all and also it taught me what non-linear narration is. I will take the analysis tips I have learned throughout this novel and apply it to the future works we read.

A Chronicle of A Death Foretold is the first school book that I actually like. I mean I probably wouldn't read it for fun time but it had that mysterious aspect that kept you into it. What have I learned from it? Mostly how to analyze a bit more. The non-linear part was easy to understand but I just didn't know the name for it. I didn't find the book extremely hard or hard to understand but there was things that I had overlooked. I will defiantly take what I learned about analyzing and use it in others.

I enjoyed this book alot. Even though the outcome of the story was known before the cause of it, the story was very interesting. The story itself wasn't as challenging as I thought it was going to be however analyzing it was hard. It has improved my analysis process because you had to look at different aspects of the story to understand why the citizens of the town where allowed to do the things they did. i will use the onion affect on other books. CoaDF taught me to look deeper into the book to find answers and to make connections. I would have never found the Crusafiction connections or the connection between the butchering of animals and the death of Santiago if I didn't look deeper into the book. This book also made me look at myself differently. It was a perfect example of the bystandered effect. Now I will help more people, if I see someone who might need my help or hear about someone that might be in danger I will make an effort to help them in any way I can

A Chronicle of a death for told is a beautifully written book. Marquez was able to create characters and situations that seem vague on the surface, but much deeper as you begin to dig. These characters and situations are never what they seem but usually something so much more. Never would I have expected for an author to parallel Jesus Christ to someone like Santiago Nasar. The in-depth analysis of this book opened my eyes to what can be done when someone uses their imagination. The studying of this book in the future will help me with peeling characters to the core by asking myself questions - such as why would the author put them in this book? How did this character affect the rest of story? etc.

This novel was amazing and it reallt helped with my analysis. Almost every character in the novel is a symbol and means something. Like Santiago for example. He symbolize Jesus in a way. Also, being previously exposed to Marquez and his magical realism , it made understanding the concept of magical realism better.

This book really opened my eyes to different styles of writing. I had never really taken the time to analyze a book so deeply and find such meaning. Every character in novel was a symbol of someone or something and the more i came to realize that, the more interesting the book was to me. During the interactive oral when we figured out all the biblical symbolism, my insight.on the book was almost completely changed.

I think this novel is the best that we've ever read. It helped me to realize just how many hidden symbols and messages can be in one book. I now know that I can find biblical allusions in almost anything if a look hard enough.

  9. I really did like this story for the fact that it opened my eyes to how many stories can reveal around one event and how the perception and how people took the event can create so many branches and leaves to a growing tree.

The novel was a lot different from anything that I have ever read before, but I did like it. I haven't read anything that jumped around from person, time, and place but after you get used to it, it makes it more fun when you are trying to figure out what happened to the people in the town and why they didn't say anything. I feel that I has helped me in analyzing books, because I haven't read a book with so many biblical references, so I will hopefully be able to spot them very easily in the future books that I read.

  11. The story wasn't as challenging as I thought it was going to be but analyzing it was difficult. It has i my increased analysis process because you had to look at it in multiple aspects of the story to understand why the people of the town where allowed to do the things they did.It has made understanding the concept of magical realism easier to perform. -Brandon Bernard
